ROGERSDOTTER GRAN
(b. 1987 Luleå) I am an artist based in Umeå. I earned my MFA from HDK-Valand in Photography and my BFA from Konstfack in Fine Art. The understanding of time and space, a place or a site is recurrent themes within my artistic practice. My work is often experimental documentary: Im interested in developing methods working interdisciplinary and that explores contemporary concepts of how nature, landscape and identity could be interpreted as.
I was born and raised in Luleå in the north of Sweden, with parents from Kiruna municipality. During five years I was the photo editor for the magazine Provins (2018-2023). I have also experience working as a curator at Museum Anna Nordlander (2017-2018). During a couple of years I was part of running the selforganized gallery Verkligheten in Umeå (2016-2019). Right now I work part time as the Artistic Director of Umeå Filmfestival and somtimes I do some freelance photographic works. Here is a small portfolio of some assignments.
